There will be a brief informational meeting for Juniors only on Friday, January 9th during Advisor in Miss Daniels room. On Wednesday January 14th, at 7:00pm, Junior students and parents/guardians are welcomed to attend an in-depth meeting regarding the Italy 2027 trip in the Platform Room.
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we are planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. In this information session on Wednesday, January 14th, at 7:00pm, we will talk about:
-How this opportunity will benefit your student
-What we will see and do on the trip
-Everything that is included in this experience

Congratulations to Eastern Middle School students, Channing Hill and Mallie Wheeler, for winning the VFW Patriots Pen essay contest! Both students received monetary prizes from the VFW as building winners for their grade level and Channing received an additional prize as the district winner. Great job!

This year's Write in Red Essay winners are Karleigh Brigner (middle school) and Emari Snyder (high school)! Both students were awarded $100 for winning the building competition and Karleigh was awarded $500 as the Pike County winner! Congratulations!!

The varsity boys basketball team will still play tonight's game at Portsmouth West. JV will tip off at 6pm.
Due to potential slick road conditions this morning and excessive student and staff absences yesterday due to illness, the Eastern Local School District will be closed today, Friday, December 12th.
Eastern Elementary Fifth Grade Students recently graduated from the DARE Program. I would like to thank Pike County Sheriff Tracey Evans for his on going commitment to provide this program and a DARE Educator to our school each year. DARE is an school based program that has been in school for more than 40 years. D.A.R.E. provides students with the skills necessary to recognize and resist pressures to experiment with drugs and to avoid gangs and violence. Lessons emphasize self-esteem, decision making, interpersonal communications skills, the consequences of drug abuse, conflict resolution and positive alternatives to substance abuse.
After completing a seed germination project earlier this fall, Mrs. Campbell's vocational agriculture students completed some farm-to-fork activities by making pumpkin pie and apple cider!
Game time for this Saturday's (12/13) middle school and varsity girls basketball games have been changed. The middle school girls will start at 12:30 p.m. and the varsity girls will start at 2:00 p.m.
